About us
The Last Resort in Nepal was founded in 1999, after scouting the Nepal-Tibet border area intensively for the perfect place to build an adventure resort.
The present location, on top of the steep Bhote Kosi River gorge, was finally chosen because of the almost unlimited possibilities for many kinds of adventure sports and its tremendous natural beauty.
We built a 160-meter high suspension bridge as the spectacular entrance to the resort to link up a remote area with the Kathmandu-Lhasa road. Previously the locals had to walk 5 hours to reach the nearest bridge.
Next a huge variety of plants and trees were planted to landscape the resort surroundings and we built an open dining hall using local materials and labour. We chose safari tents as accommodation to give our guests the simple luxuries of sleeping in a comfortable bed while enjoying the sounds of nature.
The Last Resort since continues to improve and expand its facilities and services. With all operations we always makes sure that the local community profits too.
Our biggest asset is having a great team running the offices in Kathmandu and the resort and its activities. We have a passion for what we do and are looking forward to sharing our resort with you.
